The White Rabbit

I was shopping at Scraptastic Club Store and I just loved these Valentines papers: "Lucky in Love" by Echo Park Paper and "Hugs and Kisses" by Simple Stories, but I just don't have that many valentines photos. Then I remembered these gorgeous photos I got of the uber soft white rabbit at WDW. There were two queues there: one for Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, and the other super long queue for the White Rabbit. We really wanted photos with Dee and Dum so we waited for them and I snapped a couple of photos of this sweet character, he is one of my favorites.

Again with this layout I have some nice gold foil accents in the vellum, the mist, and the sequin stars but it just isn't showing in the photos.  I printed lines from the movie/song to use on my page.

This cute little paper pieced white rabbit is a cricut cut file and I don't make them often but I am so glad I remembered that I had this one because it was fun to make and I love that he coordinates.

Hurricane Hanna's Poolside Bar

This is just one of the most wonderful spots at any Disney Resort. It's the pool at Beach Club resort and its a beautiful spot for a drink before Dinner at the Cape May clam bake. For my layout I used a woodgrain background paper and teal patterned paper from Dear Lizzy, a light blue striped paper from Echo Park and several nautical themed papers from DCWV.

I wish I could have taken a photo that would show you all of the gold foil accents on these papers. The shell design is all gold foil and the dots on the vellum as well.

You might be able to see a bit of the gold in this close up. I hand cut the shells from a DCWV patterned paper.

Scraptastic Club Store: EP Anything Goes & OA Saturday Mornings

Hello Everyone! So what are all of you working on while the weather has been so difficult across the country? I have been staying warm and dry indoors and getting several layouts finished with some of the new collections in the Store. I actually have a one page layout and a 2 page layout to share today!
First I created this one page layout with a couple of fun photos of my inlaws while we were out antiquing. Since the photos are busy, I chose white cardstock for the background and used the vibrant "Anything Goes" collection from Echo Park Paper. Also I had this one strip of woodgrain paper left from a layout I posted back at the beginning of the month so I used it to anchor the top of the page.

Supplies: Echo Park - Anything Goes - Fresh Flowers Paper, Echo Park - Anything Goes - Arrow Stripes Paper, Echo Park - Anything Goes -  Cool Cameras Paper, Echo Park - Anything Goes - Floating Feathers Paper, Echo Park - Anything Goes - Living The Life Paper, Echo Park - Anything Goes - Dots Paper, Echo Park - Anything Goes - Elements Stickers, Freckled Fawn - Paper Clips - Light Blue Long Arrows, Freckled Fawn - Paper Clips -Retro Star Clips, Simple Stories - Life Documented Scrapbook - New Bradz, Dear Lizzy - Serendipity - Soar Woodgrain Printed Chipboard Thickers Freckled Fawn - Enamel Dew Drops, Dear Lizzy - Serendipity - Phrases Date Stamp, Freckled Fawn - Washi Tape - Gold Polka Dot Small

I painted and splattered mist on my background cardstock and then layered the patterned papers behind my photos. Next for a little bit of extra embellishment, it's always fun to pull out some of the versatile embellishments from Freckled Fawn like the Star or Arrow Paper Clips, Enamel Dots, and Washi Tape. I especially love this tiny gold dot Washi tape because it adds a little something extra without drawing too much attention to that spot on the layout. I stamped the Phrases stamp from Dear Lizzy multiple times and it becomes an element of design for the background.

For another fun element I cut one of the journaling cards and punched two circles in it and then layered over the Cool Cameras paper and die cut a tiny Texas from the red patterned paper.

Now I have a "2 Pager" to share using the retro cute Saturday Mornings collection from October Afternoon. I haven't really created 2 page layouts much lately, but sometimes I have more photos that need to go together. I am better at one pagers, so I decided that I would share my new 2 page concept with you guys. I use the same products and create two independent layouts that have common elements.

For the first page I used the wood paneling paper for my background and then repeated a pieces of it for the second page. Then if you look at the blue and green patterned paper, I created a cut file that is similar in pattern and cut it out using cream cardstock on the first page and then used the same cream cardstock for the second page background.

Because the papers in this collection have such fun designs, I cut the oval elements from one patterned paper, chairs from another patterned paper, and this super cute tv from a third patterned paper. For a little extra dimension I added these perfect wood chip shapes which I painted with gold mist.

Oh Yeah! Scraptastic Store

Have you seen the new Simple Stories Life Documented Scrapbook collection? The Scraptastic Club Store has the papers, embellishments and several of the album options no matter your style of scrapbooking. The papers have wonderful primary type colors with stripes, notebook lines, iconic designs and florals which work really well for contrast on a layout.

My fav is usually the woodgrain in a collection because I like to use them as backgrounds. After layering some of these papers under my photos I added a couple of the silver Star Paper Clips from Freckled Fawn so the photos and things would appear to be clipped onto the notebook paper piece with a bit of vellum from my stash.

Next I cut PS4 across the lower portion of the backgrounds and used some of my paper scraps to put behind. For a little more of a guy gamer page, I used some of the stamps from the March Sentiments Series V.5 Stamp Set HERE.

Sweet! DCWV Candy Cane Lane

Yep, another holiday layout. I guess I figure that photos taken during holiday times or like these from vacation during holiday celebrations, will have to be scrapped after the holidays and with the numbers I have, probably for a couple of years so you can expect to see holiday pages from me thru the year.

For this page I used the DCWV Candy Cane Lane Stack along with the Foiled Vellum 6x6 stack, and a couple of pieces from the Sparkling Holiday Stack. This page is way better in person, but for some reason I just could not get a good photo, partly because I kept angling the camera to try to show the gold accents. For the dots on the background I use a dotty DCWV stencil with some gesso and then splattered a bit of black and gold mist.

The tag is cut from one of the papers and then I added clear glitter to the snowflake shape and mounted a gold Castle piece of confetti from my trip in the center, then added a red DCWV Gem in the center.

2 Layouts using the March Counting Stars Kits

Time to share two more pages using Scraptastic Club's March "Counting Stars" kit, Add on Kit, Stamp Set, and Print and Cut files. I really loved the cut file this month so I expect you will be seeing it alot more from me.

Instead of using the cut file (HERE) full sized for this page, I cut pieces to layer with paper, tags, die cuts, etc. I like the way it gives the elements depth without thickness. I really love these sheer plastic die cuts in this kit, so easy to machine stitch straight thru.

Notice the alpha stamps that I used for Fig and Sav's names at the bottom - they are from the Counting Stars Stamp Set HERE - just super fun. I stamped and cut them out of scraps of patterned papers. And the little pink heart in the background paper was in a great spot for me to add the stamped phrase "sweet as can be" from the It Takes Two Stamp Set.

For my second page I used the MME rub ons and I wanted to remind you that you can use rub ons over several papers and stitching and tags and things and it still turns out cool. I actually applied the "love today" rub on here and then used the tip of scissors to break the line where the paper met so I could still bend up the edge of the paper there.

this mickey label is actually one of the Print and Cut files and I applied the rub ons and then punched mickey from the center and mounted it with adhesive foam tape.

a closer look at that rub on.

It's almost March so it's time for the Scraptastic Club Kits Sneak Peeks! But first I have to remind you to check out the BLOG (HERE) because if you haven't been following the blog, you are missing a ton of inspiration. Every morning the Scraptastic Club Kits Design Team posts layout and card inspiration using their kits and this is one seriously talented team. If that's not enough, many afternoons at 2:00 the Scraptastic Store Design Team shares their creations. And while we are talking inspiration - Check out the new Gallery HERE

OK on to the March Peeks! So look at these three peeks and tell me which one is your fave. I am really looking forward to getting the Rivers and Roads kit because its very springy. I have no idea what I will be scrapping with it yet but I just love it.

Reflections of Earth - Scraptastic Club February kit

This month the Scraptastic Club kits that I chose are the Counting Stars Kit, Add On Kit, Stamp Set and the Digital Files. And as much as I love all the goodies in the kit, it's the Digi Cut File that I had the most fun with this time. I always like to print the labels that match the kit and I have to hand cut them because I don't have a silhouette, but I can use my cricut and old Sure Cuts Alot software to cut out the super cool cut files each month.
So here is my first layout. If you have ever tried to scrapbook photos of night time parades, shows, or fireworks you  know its not fun. I have hundreds of photos over multiple trips that have never been scrapped. I really love the way this worked for night photos and for EPCOT because of the cut file so I am thinking this is a great way to approach other night photos.

First let me say that you can not cut all the way out to the edge of a 12x12 piece of paper with any cutting software so I cut this as large as I could and then turned it on angle to overlap the edges and cut off the excess so I was able to use one of the cut off bits in the upper right corner. I love the negative space but I wanted to add papers to some of the "star" shapes.

I love the glittered stickers in the kit so I cut some of the banner shapes to fit in my star as well. I cut my title from scraps of bling cardstock in my stash.  The little Epic tag is a resist die cut from the kit and the exclusive Scraptastic flair was exactly the right little accent for this corner. I hope you guys will try a cut file like this because even though it took some time, its just really fun and I love the way it worked with my photos.

Scraptastic Club Store: Echo Park Mini theme collections

Today I am sharing a couple of layouts using  Echo Park Mini Theme collections. These are smaller collections that contain two sheets each of double sided patterned papers along with a coordinating sticker sheet. If you haven't used these smaller packs, you are missing out, they are just a perfect amount of fun themey products. I thought I would do a dino page combining the Dinosaur Adventure collection and Family Reunion collection papers because they work so well together and I had so much fun with my page that I finished a second page. These will go in the album next to each other so its nice that they coordinate even though they are not technically a 2 pager.

Here is my first page using funny photos of my husband and a dino puppet.

Rawr means 600
Supplies: Echo Park - Dinosaur Collection Kit, Echo Park - Family Reunion Collection Kit, Simple Stories - Sweater Weather - Crisp Days Paper, Dear Lizzy - Foil Letter Stickers, Freckled Fawn - Paper Clips - Retro Star Clips, Freckled Fawn - Paper Clips - Red Long Arrow, Dear Lizzy - Serendipity - Phrases Date StampBecky Higgins - Project Life - Desktop Embossing Folders

I added a woodgrain patterned paper from Simple Stories for a more rustic look. I also added some extra dimension by embossing vellum using the  Becky Higgins - Project Life - Desktop Embossing Folders. This pack has 2 embossing folders but I chose the background of stars, and I have layered it behind my photos and patterned papers. The cute frames were cut from one of the patterned papers in the Family Reunion collection kit.

One of the 4x6 cards on the patterned papers in the Dinosaur Adventure collection kit says "RAWR  means: I love you (in dinosaur)" so I cut it apart to use it for my title. I stamped the "oh my" using the  Dear Lizzy - Serendipity - Phrases Date Stamp.

Rawr-means-2

For my second layout I chose to cut out block title letters from this cute dino print paper, machine straight stitch around them and then cut the second half of the title from the darker red orange paper. I continued the same look as the first page using the woodgrain paper and the same splatters of mists.

Dino photo op 600
Supplies: Echo Park - Dinosaur Collection Kit, Echo Park - Family Reunion Collection Kit, Simple Stories - Sweater Weather - Crisp Days PaperSimple Stories - Sweater Weather - Enamel Dots,

These cute little frames were perfect for a photo op page and I cut these adorable dinos from one of the patterned papers as well so that they would fit in the little frames. Then I just added a few enamel dots around the frames.

Pinspiration Monday at Scraptastic Club Blog

Today I was lucky enough to get to do the Pinterest Inspiration Monday feature on the Scraptastic Club Blog with Nancy Damiano. We chose an image from Pinterest and each created a layout inspired by elements of the image. Check out our post HERE to see the image and Nancy's gorgeous page. I hope it will inspire you to pull out a photo or two and play along

For my layout I used the last of my January "This Must Be The Place" kit, and Add on kit, Freckled Fawn Gold Polka Dot Large Washi Tape , and a white doily from my December kit.

In the Pinterest image I immediately noticed the white on white crisp look so I used a white background, added a white doily as well as a die cut version of the Grand Floridian Resort insignia using a scrap of white cardstock.

I loved the watercolor image of lips with a bit of splattered watercolor so I chose to bring that look to my layout background with a brush of color across the page and multi colored splatters. I also chose to incorporate gold elements including gold polka dots with the Freckled Fawn Gold Polka Dot Large Washi Tape.

Festival of Fantasy Parade

First I have to say that the new Festival of Fantasy Parade at Magic Kingdom is fantastic! Seriously, just a beautiful fun parade and I am so glad we made time to see it. These photos are the beginning of the parade and I did this page for a color challenge using a red, white, pink, lavender, and yellow. These are pretty tricky colors for me so I added a blue and even a tag that is green.

I have to tell you guys that I was not at all happy with my layout and my title started out just white. After I finished the page I felt like it needed a more colorful title so I added some blue watercolor to the title using a small paint brush and Twinkling H2O paints. I still feel like this page got away from me a little but I like the water color gradient title so I will probably give it a go again. The little castle confetti piece is from confetti that was included in our "in room Celebration" from the Disney World Florist, so of course I kept the confetti for scrapbooking.
